The village of Les Planes d’Hostoles was built on a 45,000 year-old lava flow from the nearby Traiter volcano, which flowed down the Cogolls valley and settled here. The village includes the two hamlets of Cogolls and Les Encies, nestling beneath the imposing rocky outcrop of the El Far mountain. The surrounding landscape is rich and varied, ideal for walking and cycling.
